In 2002 long time friends decided to embrace their entrepreneurial spirit and start a much needed local coffee shop in the heart of downtown Casper. Once they had their location picked, they started construction on the space and renovating 241 David Street. They worked night and day and with some hard work, a little creativity, and some thrifty business ideas Metro was created. The shop did well and became a Casper staple for local coffee and a place to meet and greet friends.
They later sold the business to John Norgaard and his step-son Nelson Giese. They continued to keep the Metro dream alive for over 10 years. Again the shop changed hands as the planets came into alignment and Sean Peverley and his partners saw it as the perfect opportunity to take this well established business and expand it. They opened a second location on the east side of Casper and began roasting their own coffee beans as well as baking their own fresh bagels.
Dream big. Push hard. Be persistent. All things I believe in. With my band. With my businesses. With my life. Metro is about all of those things and about instilling it in the people that we work with. A career in the medical field for 15 years drove me to be adamant about quality and service - those things we will always strive for. I am part of two Wyoming brands and also a design studio in Casper. Wyoming is my home, it’s where I’m from and it’s where I’m rooted - deeply.
I love where I’m at in life with my jobs. working as a barista and florist allows me to build relationships with customers and to make an impact on their day whether it’s a simple cup of coffee or a little bouquet. i enjoy being able to create new things at both my jobs, but have learned being a barista is much more than pulling shots and steaming milk.
I love Casper and the community we have built around us. i like making coffee and meeting new people while doing it. I’m excited for the chance to grow and keep expanding so people all around Wyoming can see what we’ve built. 👍🏻
